My experience at TrappedSG & Home Of Joy Steamboat Restaurant

I was recently invited by Trapped SG to try out one of their escape room! Never in my life I have experienced a real escape room game (I have perviously tried the outdoor version where I played with more than 100 participants but I always wanted to try the indoors version) so this was counted as my first time! I decided to bring along Bella, Cheryl and Joyner with me as we haven’t met up for more than a year! Thought it would be a fun experience to work together as a team and solve the puzzle/mystery together.

This is the outlet located at SCAPE, Orchard Road just beside Cathay Cineleisure Ocrchard. The place is quite prominent and easy to find because it’s not exactly inside the SCAPE.

Q: What is the escape room all about?

In a nutshell, you will be trapped in a room with a limited time of only 1 hour. Within the hour, you are suppose to solve the puzzle by looking and solving the clues in order advance to the next round, for instance, the key to the next room. Electronic devices (that explains the lack of photos in this post, means you have to come down and experience it yourself!) are strictly not allowed during the gameplay and you will only be given a wireless phone with a hotline to call if you need assistance or help but you are only entitled to call a maximum of 3 times. Not to worry for your valuables because you will be given a locker and a key to store your barang barang.

Q: How I felt after playing?

My friends and I got the opportunity to try out the “World War 3” room which was a zombies theme. I heard that there was another room which is much more scarier and it is the “Friday the 13th” room. So for more adventurous people, you might want to check that out because that room is one of the latest addition to the one at SCAPE’s outlet. Guess what? We managed to make it out within an hour, If I could recall we came out at 54 mins! Of course with the help of maximising the 3 helpline calls and we kinda broke the rules by calling another two times for help. I shall not spill any beans about how we solved the puzzles but I must say that IT IS NOT EASY and it really required you to think out of the box! You will need to brainstorm as a team in order to advance to the next round. It was really fun as my good friend, Joyner was really a joker, he likes to make things funny even in the most serious situation. It was really fun and many laughter (I think the staff heard our laughter haha)! I do wish to come back and try again!!!

Here is the pricing if you are interested to find out! Good news because they have student promo if you are below 21 years old. I would say that Escape Room is a great activity for team bonding!
